“Chipper”
September, 2019
We have raised three wonderful puppies from Longwood Goldens. Rebecca puts in so much time with each of her litters and has involved us in the puppies’ lives from before they were born, through their earliest days. When we have brought our puppies home from her it has been evident that they have been raised in an exceptionally loving and caring environment.
Our most recently adopted puppy—Chipper—came to us after we lost our dog at Christmas last year. We reached out to Rebecca almost immediately after our loss and she let us know that she would be expecting a litter. She involved us throughout Chipper’s mother’s pregnancy and his early days—allowing us the opportunity to be part of his whole life, even before he joined our family. He has been the perfect addition to our home—bringing energy and joy to our household.
Bob and I have recommended Longwood Goldens to many friends and would never look anywhere else for a golden retriever. We can’t imagine life without a Longwood Golden and are thrilled to have had them throughout our children’s lives. Based on her experience with our beloved Golden, our now-adult daughter Allie is looking to adopt one of her own. We could not recommend Longwood Goldens more highly.

Soon after Chris and I met we bonded over our love of dogs, specifically golden retrievers. After we got married and finally had a home with enough space to welcome a puppy we found Rebecca and Peter Foster. Longwood Goldens was recommended to us from friends who had done exhaustive research on golden retriever breeders as a very reputable breeder that brought up well-mannered and beautiful dogs.
We first met Rebecca and Peter while visiting Longwood after the litter was born and we immediately knew we had made the right decision. The Fosters are so kind and loving and those traits rubbed off on their full grown dogs and their new litter. They patiently answered all of our questions in person, over the phone, and via e-mail. As first-time dog owners we had lots of questions and likely would have been overbearing for many other breeders, but not the Fosters. Best of all, they welcomed us to their home to visit the litter whenever we wanted! They talked to us, got to know our personalities and what we were looking for in a puppy, and helped us pick the perfect match for our family – Sadie.
We have had Sadie for 4 months now and she is the best thing that has happened to our family! She is fun, sweet, and so mild-mannered. While this is the nature of the breed we also feel it has a lot to do with how the Fosters raised these puppies; in a home with lots of people, dogs, love and care.
Every time we walk down the street or go the park Sadie is stopped by strangers and we hear about how beautiful she is, and more importantly about her calm temperament and demeanor – especially for a puppy! Sadie is wonderful around adults, children, and all other dogs and we are so thankful to have found a couple like the Fosters who made the major decision to bring a dog into our lives such a wonderful experience.
We cannot recommend the Fosters and Longwood Goldens enough! Sadie brings us so much joy and we have them to thank for making our entire experience of finding her so wonderful.

“Gordie”
We found Rebecca and Peter by a stroke of luck while helping my parents search for a Golden. Little did we know just how lucky we had gotten. My parents' dog was so wonderful that my husband and I knew we wanted one of Rebecca's dogs for our own family. He is everything we ever dreamed of, and the experience with Longwood Goldens has been nothing short of amazing from first communication to today. Rebecca and Peter LOVE these dogs. They care so much about the puppies and the families they join. Their dogs are happy, healthy puppies who are part of a family from the day they are born, and I could not recommend Longwood Goldens more.

Back in 2000 my husband and I were just married and wanted a dog; however, not just any dog would do. We had our hearts set on a golden retriever, a breed known for its sweet disposition - a perfect “family dog.” To say we did our “homework” is an understatement. We researched, read, asked - you name it - so that we knew what to look for in a reputable breeder. We were so lucky to find Rebecca Foster and Longwood Goldens, a true blessing. Being new to the whole process, also meant we didn’t know the first thing about raising a puppy. Rebecca was so patient with us as we visited often until it was time to take our boy home; she taught us so much. We were always so pleased at the great care and love she gave to all of her dogs, and impressed with her knowledge of raising puppies/dogs. Out of a litter of 8, she helped us pick the best little guy for what was eventually going to be a growing family. Our dog Emory was a loving member of our family for many years, and ended up being the best big brother to our two children. We still miss him terribly.
After his passing, we thought we were going to wait a bit before getting another dog, since our children were old enough to travel with. However, when we reached out to the Fosters to let them know of Emory’s passing, Rebecca told us her dog Piper had just had a litter and there was a boy available. Without any hesitation, traveling was the furthest from our minds, and we said we would love to have this puppy join our family. It seemed perfect to be able to get another golden from the Fosters - and our home just wasn’t the same without a dog. Thatcher is now 7 years old and the younger brother to our now teen and almost teen children. We cannot imagine life without him!
Throughout the last almost 18 years, we have kept in touch with the Fosters and feel they are part of our family - after all, two of our most favorite family members have come from Longwood Goldens. When we are ready for another, we will not hesitate to contact Rebecca, and hope she breeds her beautiful goldens for many years to come.
Chelsea, Jason and Kennedy:
When my husband and I were ready to welcome a dog into our family, we knew a golden retriever would be the breed we wanted. Having been referred to Rebecca and Peter at Longwood Goldens from a reputable breeder, I emailed Rebecca right away. Her first email was timely/informative and we were lucky that a litter would be due soon. Rebecca allowed my husband and me, as well as my parents and brother (also golden retriever enthusiasts), to come and meet her, see where the puppies would be kept and raised as well as see the 3 week old litter - we jumped at the opportunity to be sure it was an environment and setting we felt was appropriate for our future puppy. We couldn’t have been happier with our first impressions and knew we were in good hands and our puppy was coming from a loving home and breeder. The environment was clean, spacious and comfortable for all involved - especially momma and her puppies!
The most impressive part of our experience (minus the visits with a litter of puppies) was Rebecca’s ability to predict pairing options for what we described in what we were looking for in our new family member. She was spot on with her assessment of our male, Kennedy, who we hoped would be a spirited personality and a family dog. He is a joy, a golden retriever through and through and an extremely handsome golden if we do say so!
We couldn’t speak more highly of Longwood Goldens and Rebecca and Peter. They are attentive, responsive and take their role as breeder very seriously - which shows in their own dogs and the puppies.
We would choose Longwood Goldens over and over again!
